Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some of the ones we're most often asked.
Do Lipton® products contain allergens?
When any of the eight most common allergens (milk, eggs, fish, wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, soybeans and crustaceans) occur in any of our products they will be listed inside the ingredient statement in plain language. We do not use the terms "natural" or "artificial flavorings" to hide the existence of any allergens. We do not have dedicated production lines in our manufacturing facilities for products containing allergens. We have special handling procedures for all allergenic ingredients used in our manufacturing facilities.
Do Lipton® products contain gluten?
We recommend you read the label each time before buying our product. If gluten is present, it is clearly listed in plain language on the ingredient label (i.e. wheat flour, rye, barley, oats and malt). Since product formulations change from time to time, we do not publish a list of gluten-free flavors.
How long will my Lipton® product maintain its freshness?
The "Best if Used by" date is stamped on the side flap of the box or on the bottom of the container of every Tea product. This date assures the product's optimum quality and freshness. We recommend that you use your product by this date. The following is an example of the Taste Best Before Date: DEC0213SQ0 -- which means it should be consumed by December 2nd of 2013.
How should I prepare my favorite Lipton® product?
All of our products have suggested brewing or mixing instructions. Please see original container.
Hot Tea: For a delicious cup of hot tea from Tea Bags, pour boiling water over a tea bag and brew 2 to 5 minutes; sweeten to taste.
Iced Tea: For a refreshing quart of quick chill iced tea, pour 2 cups boiling water over 3 to 5 tea bags in heat-proof pitcher, brew 3 to 5 minutes, remove tea bags and sweeten to taste. Then stir in 3 cups ice cubes until melted.
